ABOUT US
The not for profit New York City Riding Academy was founded by Dr. George E. Blair in 1970 in Manhattan's Randall's Island Park, New York, New York 10035.
During the Academy's 53 years existence it has served thousands of students ranging in age from 5 to 90. Dr. Blair and his distinguished equestrian colleagues at the Academy are all unpaid Volunteers. Dr. Blair has been riding horses, training horses and teaching students how to ride horses from beginners to dressage training for more than 80 years. Dr. Blair has also served as an instructor and coach for children participating in The New York State Special Olympics for more than 30 years. Dr. Blair, age 91, is a distinguished scholar and teacher with many earned and honorary degrees, a visionary equestrian and former Army Officer who has received many awards and special recognitions.
